Focus & Drive

Updated: Oct 18, 2022

With the new uncertain world that we've suddenly been thrown into, it can be hard to stay focused on things like school and furthering a career. I wrote this blog post to talk about some of the things that I've struggled with since the pandemic started, and ways that I've combated my obstacles.

One of the things that I've found the most difficult during this pandemic, is staying driven. Admittedly, when we first went on lock down, I was having trouble being productive as many of my planned activities ( including my summer internship) were cancelled for safety reasons. I resigned myself to the expectation that I simply wouldn't be able to further my animal experience for the foreseeable future, and that made me feel quite stagnant.

It took me a few weeks to get back on track, but ultimately I did, and grew from the overall experience. We live in an ever changing world, and having to adapt to staying on top of my goals during a pandemic (among other things going on in the world) taught me patience, resilience, and most importantly, the importance of staying driven when presented with unfavorable circumstances.

I decided to write this blog post with full transparency, as I think it's important to not only highlight my successes, but my challenges as well. No one is perfect, and its completely normal (and expected) to hit a few obstacles every now and then.
