Unfortunately, I had to leave school in March as a result of the Covid- 19 pandemic. Although I was really sad to leave school, I still wanted to be somewhat active during the summer. Granted, a lot of my time has been spent watching Netflix and laying around my room, but I have also been taking this time to develop myself both as a person, and future medical professional.
One of the things that I did, was run for an officer position in the NCAT Pre-Medical Veterinary Association. I am proud to announce that the election went well, and I will be serving as Miss Pre-Veterinary Medical Association for the 2020-2021 Academic School Year! As Miss Pre-Vet, I will be responsible for connecting members of NCAT PVMA with community service opportunities that will not only increase their animal experience and involvement in their community, but also enhance their overall development as young professionals in the world of animal science.
In addition to running for office, I have also been looking at ways that I can utilize this time professionally, including developing my LinkedIn, and keeping in touch with professors that I built connections with this year. My biggest project this break has been throwing my energy into revamping this website, and so far, I am really proud of my efforts. I have also been doing things for myself, like steadily watching enough Netflix to eliminate the Netflix List I've been piling for years, and picking up new hobbies like re-purposing clothes and making elaborate Pinterest meals. I am extremely fortunate to have such a productive yet comfortable "Corona Break", and I can't wait to resume life within our new normal. Hope all is well!
